On Friday, 29 August over 30 doctors, surgeons, radiologists and radiographers congregated for the 2014 Breast Ultrasound Course held at Encore Conference Centre, Plattekloof. The course had two components, firstly lectures were presented by Prof Justus P Apffelstaedt and Associates covering an array of topics which included; Ultrasound equipment and techniques, Anatomy of the breast, Benign lesions of the breast and implants, and Malignant lesions of the breast and interventional ultrasound. For the second part of the course, attendees received practical training based on the topics covered in the presentations
The day ended with a handover ceremony where all certificates and CPD points, the course was also a wonderful networking opportunity for those who share a passion and special interest in breast health.
