Dr Justus Apffelstaedt is a specialist surgeon with a particular interest in breast, thyroid and parathyroid health management, as well as soft tissue surgical oncology.
Dr Apffelstaedt is the founding member of Apffelstaedt, Hoosain & Associates and has published about 50 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals, both nationally and internationally, presented about 60 invited papers at national and international scientific meetings and had about 100 scientific papers read at national and international scientific meetings.
Dr Apffelstaedt is a registered member / fellow with the following societies:

- Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa,
- Founding Member of Breast Surgery International (BSI),

Hoosain
Specialist Surgeon
Dr Fatima Hoosain is a specialist surgeon in a super- specialist breast and thyroid health centre.
Dr Hoosain enjoys all aspects of general surgery, with a particular interest in breast, thyroid health and soft tissue tumours and management.
Currently, Dr Hoosain is enrolled in a Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery, done via the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES). On completion hereof in February 2025, Dr Hoosain will be the only fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon in the private sector in South Africa.
Dr Hoosain has been involved in the publication of several journal articles, regularly contributing to interviews and articles on many aspects of breast, thyroid health and cancers, including genetic testing, oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer with same-session reconstruction, the impact of lifestyle and diet on breast cancer, and the role of thyroid health and disease.
Dr Hoosain is a registered member of the following societies:

Dr Nici Zeeman
Breast Physician
Dr Nici Zeeman is a breast physician and general practitioner with a special interest in breast and thyroid health.
Dr Zeeman obtained her medical degree, after completing her internship and community service years, she moved to Ireland in 2004, where she spent 7 years working in different medical fields.
Dr Zeeman has always had a keen interest in female health and upon returning to South Africa in 2011, she joined Apffelstaedt and Associates as a breast physician.
Dr Zeeman has been involved in and presented research studies on breast cancer outcomes and lifestyle management in breast cancer patients at conferences and meetings over the years.

Dr Lyn Fortuin
Breast Physician
Dr Lyn Fortuin is a breast physician and general practitioner with a special interest in women’s health, breast and thyroid health and in the field of sexology, particularly where it relates to oncology. She attends lectures, webinars, and journal club meetings that address these topics.
In addition to breast and thyroid health, Dr Fortuin further provides cervical cancer screenings for our patients.
